Disney Dining Quick Service Plan

place-settingThe Disney Dining Plan is, by and large, a good value. It’s also a way of knowing, before hand, what your food expenses will be and not be faced with sticker shock when you get there and see menu prices.

In 2009, Disney introduced an abbreviated version of their basic Dining Plan. The Quick Service Dining Plan offers 2 counter service meals and 2 snacks per person, per night of your stay. You also get one refillable resort mug per person. The mugs are refillable for the length of your stay, but only at Quick Service locations at your resort. For those who don’t want to be forced to decide where they are going to eat and make reservations at table service locations months in advance, the Quick Service Dining Plan may be the answer. The cost of the Quick Service dining plan is $32 per adult per night of your stay and $10 for children ages 3 – 9. As with the other Dining Plans, children under the age of three can share from an adult’s plate, or a child’s meal can be purchased separately for them.

One bit of advice about the Disney Dining Plans: make the decision which plan, if any, best suits your family’s needs and purchase it at least 9 days prior to your arrival. Deciding once you get there is not an option. Surprisingly, Disney does not “up sell” here. You won’t find cast members trying to talk you into buying a dining plan when you check in. You also want to make sure that if you are making reservations online, that you select the right plan; there are 3 Dining Plans and 2 Dining plus Activities Plans to choose from and you won’t want to pay for more than you want, and likewise, you won’t want to get something less than you expected. Again, if you get past the 9 day mark and discover that you accidentally chose the wrong plan, it’s too late. Carefully, check your reservation confirmation, both when you finalize your online reservation, and again when you receive your reservation packet to make sure you are getting what you want.

The chart below will give you an idea of cost and features of each plan.
