Best kept secrets that save time and money

There are two little known tips for doing Disney World with young children, one saves money the other time: Child Swap passes and Length of Stay strollers.

If you are going to need to rent a stroller (or wheel chair) for several days, consider a Length of Stay ( LoS) rental. On your first day, rent a stroller for the number of days needed. Then, all you will need to do is show your receipt each time. Not only will this save some time, but a little money as well: $2 per day.

Single stroller: $15/day (LoS rental $13/day)
Double Stroller: $31/day (LoS rental $27/day)
Wheel chair: $10/day (LoS rental $8/day)

LoS discounts may not be available during peak attendance times such as Christmas.

Child Swap passes are especially helpful to families who have children of varying ages and heights. They allow part of your group to ride those rides with height restrictions while someone stays behind with the child/children who are too small. After the first group rides, they take charge of babysitting while the one who stayed behind goes to the front of the line so that the rest of the family doesn’t have to wait for that person to go all the way through the line. And, that person doesn’t have to ride alone, someone from the first group can ride again.

Here are a few things to remember about Child Swap:

There are no signs, as with Fastpass, but generally you will want to use Child Swap on rides with height restrictions.

Let the Cast Members at both the entrance to the attraction ‘and’ the loading area know that you are using Child Swap.

The entire family can go through the queue together; while part of the family rides the attraction the other family members go to a waiting area.

If the child who isn’t tall enough for the ride is old enough to understand, be sure to explain to them that even though they are going through the line, they are not actually going to get to ride, so that they aren’t disappointed.
